Week Four: Last Tuesday, I got the opportunity to sit-in on the meeting with Shuangbao, Matt, Maria and Dr. Behrman regarding the T/TAC site. I am very excited about the website. I am happy I sat in, because I think I sometimes am able to ask the questions, others don't want to ask. I believe in using every source and getting as much info as possible. I believe we will be able to make this portion very usable and something that teachers will find helpful.

Working with my team is interesting. I like things to be on schedules and timetables, especially for a project like this. I know I am the weakest link because of my health problems, but they will hopefully all be resolved soon. Today is my first full day of doing some classwork and reading. I am able to sit up and type on the computer which is good. I am ready to start digging in and adding to the accomplishments of the team.

Last week was good, although I had to miss two days of class and will miss two days this week. My team is great! We are working together and getting things done. I still don't feel as connected to the subject as I'd like, but I am sure in a couple of months I will think I am an expert.

Yes, I am still overwhelmed and have assignments that I really need to get done, but all in all the program is well run and I am learning a lot.

Peace

Day 7:

Myers Briggs session was today. I wondered in the beginning why it would be a two day session, but after meeting Nita and going over the schedule it became clear. The day was wonderful. I learned so much about myself, and others. I am happy we are doing this in the beginning, and I hope my group wants to discuss these sessions during our next group meeting. I believe we have some items we need to add to our norm section. We also need to come up with a schedule. Next week is going to be very interesting.

I still don't have a computer and my assignments were supposed to be turned into Dickleman today. I don't have them. I'll work on them this weekend. I'll have to purchase another computer to get it done.

Day 6: Notes about team meeting from yesterday's reflections, go here. I am thinking about how to proceed. I hope the Myers Briggs sessions help.

Day Five:

We'll I didn't complete an assignment that was due, my computer crashed after I sent a note to Professor Dickelman telling him I'd complete the assignment by Thursday. I don't have a computer at home, I'll have to try to make different arrangements. Now I am really STRESSED! I need to get caught up.

My group met today and I wasn't happy with our progress. During the meeting, people were talking while others were talking and I thought that was very rude. This was officially our second meeting. My role is meeting facilitator, but how do you facilitate when your group is not following simple meeting protocol.

To be honest, I was pissed, especially when I tried to work on an update of our group covenants. I'd taken some notes during the session on team norms/covenants, but we were not behaving like a team.

SEPTEMBER 3, 2005, SATURDAY

I am so burn't out, I can't even think about school work. I know I should be working on assignments or reading, but my mind is not cooperating.

I had planned to work all day, but my children need some Mommy time. I'll read tomorrow...

Day Four: Wow, todays practicum class was good. Of course, by the time it was over I was feeling like there's no way in H___ I'm going to be able to do all of the coursework. But, of course my buddy Shawn, told me,"Others did it and so can you." I agreed. I don't think they were any smarter, they stuck with it and got the job done. Shawn asked Dr. Clark, if this would all come together, would we know what we would be doing by the end and he assured us that we would. We felt good about that, but we know the work load is going to be huge.

Sometime I get information overload, but I'm loving learning. The program is awesome.

Day Three: Today in practicum we discussed the portfolio requirements, reflections, and project site requirements. I spent time putting up a template for my portfolio site, but I have a lot of work to do to get it to looking the way I'd like.

I'm still feeling overwhelmed, but Shawn keeps telling me I can do it! I know she's right, but I still need to work on personal issues. So much work, so little time.

Day 2, Kickoff and first practicum class. Today we got an overview of the Immersion program. WOW! I felt a little doubt creeping up, but I want it so badly. This is a no nonsense program. Everyday there is something to do, or read. It is very intense, but I can see we will be learning alot and working hard. I've got to get my books.

We were told about the projects and I hope I'll be on the T/TAC Team. I like the project focus and since I have school aged children in the VA school system, I have a personal interest in the program. I am on the T/TAC Team. I hope that everyone will be able to work together, since we will be working closly. The adventure begins...

First Day of Class:
Today was the first day of class. I am overwhelmed but excited to be in the immersion program. Class was from 4:30 until 10:00 pm. I enjoyed both classes, although I though Professor Dickelman should have had break earlier and should make the class more interactive. By the time we get to his class we are a little tired, but the information was excellent. I left class tonight wondering if I would be able to get the hand of ID. I hope so, because I am sacrificing alot.
